The man arrested is Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, according to state and local officials and court documents.
Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, is the man who was detained, according to the criminal complaint. According to the record, he was arrested in Monroe County on Friday.
As per two law enforcement sources briefed on the inquiry, authorities focused their attention on Kohberger after determining his ownership of a white Hyundai Elantra seen in the vicinity of the killings. The sources claim that Kohberger’s DNA has also been matched to genetic material found at the off-campus residence where the students were fatally stabbed.
According to the reports, authorities discovered the suspect had left the region and traveled to Pennsylvania.
Investigators from the Moscow Police Department, the Idaho State Police Homicide Bureau, and the FBI collaborated with prosecutors to establish enough reasonable cause to obtain the order while he was being observed. The FBI and Pennsylvania State Police executed the arrest warrant once it was issued.
When the Moscow Police Department holds a press conference at 1 p.m., more information is anticipated to be disclosed (4 p.m. ET).
Records indicate Kohberger was charged in Pennsylvania on Friday morning, and his extradition case will be heard in court on January 3.

Suspect is a graduate student at Washington State University.

Kohberger the suspect, is a graduate student at Washington State University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. A CNN crew observed law enforcement action at an apartment complex where graduate students live in Pullman, Washington, which is barely 7 miles from Moscow.
Bryan Kohberger, a student researcher with a DeSales University study, requested participation in a study “to examine how emotions and psychological features influence decision-making when committing a crime” in a Reddit post that was later removed when Kohberger’s arrest became public.
