The song peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and was also nominated for best song at the Golden Globes.
Five Oscars are up for “Wakanda Forever,” including best supporting actress for Angela role in Queen Ramonda.

Lady Gaga, who was nominated for “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick,” is one of Rihanna’s Oscar rivals. The song, which Gaga co-wrote with BloodPop, is her fourth nomination; she and Bradley Cooper won an Oscar for “Shallow” in 2019.
Another nominee is Diane Warren, who received her 14th Oscar nomination through her song “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman.”

Ryan Lott, who together with his band Son Lux was also nominated for best original score, worked with Mitski, David Byrne, and Ryan Lott to compose the latter song.
